“...It’s a rather radical PR. Didn’t you want to write something a bit more old fashioned as it’s my first solo show? ...I don’t mind it not being a ‘regular’ PR and I don't think the problem is sharing too much or too little. I like the writing of these texts like the images for the invites – oblique and referential – I just feel that the one you sent me is too much of an inventory and I don’t think the show will feel like that. I think that the sources of the works are removed in some way. I think we should write about the configuration of all of the works and why they are all in the show? ...I think that the configuration is some kind of resistance to the space: two enormous monochromes in a tiny gallery and 17 works in the show. Some works lead to one another and some conceal one another, but each work is completely autonomous to me. I think it will offer a choice while it is actually everything. Do you remember when we talked about why people bother going to see shows when you can see all the images online now? I want there to be an extra value/mode existing through the configuration of works and what is not there physically."
YONATAN VINITSKY (B. 1980, Jerusalem, based in London) will gain his MA Sculpture at Royal College of Art (2009) and gained his BA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College (2006). Vinitsky’s recent group shows include 'Visits to (some)Where', BWA Gallery, Poland (2008), 'Nature Untouched' Tou Scene Gallery, Norway and 'The Third Biennale for Drawing', Jerusalem Artists' House, Israel (both 2007).
