Every item of Limoncello correspondence – artist purchase orders, consignment forms, exhibition maps, invitations, invoices, letters, loan forms, press releases and such like – are printed on ‘G5 Paper’ (
Gemma Holt, ‘G5 Paper’, 2000-ongoing, Photocopy Paper, H23.3cm x W16.6cm). Holt’s functioning work personalizes the standard and every item of Limoncello correspondence uses an artwork. This represents the first time Holt’s G-sized paper has been used on a large scale and distributed in the world.
A question: “Utilitarian objects of everyday life introduced a relative anonymity and standardization based on human dimensions. What happens when these standards are disrupted?”.
A statement: “I am interested in using objects in different ways - whether it’s using the language of an existing object and changing it’s dimensions or changing the function and material of an object that already exists to give it a new meaning.”.
