Something about the sand piece and what it does in the exhibition: I imagine the sand piece will move and get dispersed over time. It blends into the gallery and in responding to the circumstances might become invisible. Sculpturally it might go from shape to no shape. ‘Flexible Values’ is the starting point.

I’m interested in the encounter with an artwork, the various stages. It is a fluid experience that is updated as one moves closer and looks around. First it exists mainly as an image then comes in an understanding of the materials in a sensuous way. I’m interested in the experience not ending at the piece but continuing to affect how other pieces in the space are experienced; the relationships between them are evaluated and meanings crystallise.
