Captain Anton Sandwich Impressive Olid in front of. / behind the. Daily, Strictly, Testy, Plenty

Yonatan Vinitsky

Thursday 18 September 2008, 7pm At 113 Dalston Lane, London, E8 1NH

Vinitsky’s double bill uses the life of Anton Sandwich (b. 1966, Poland) and his military service (1984-7) as a catalyst to tell his and other tales. Vinitsky explores methods of gathering, sharing, exclusiveness and generosity. His research is translated like the content within the game Chinese Whispers, focussed on the space between each whisperer and that space’s impressive evil smell. Both Vinitsky’s content and form –“mobile wall, hackneyed choreography and motley crew"– will act as preludes to his solo exhibition at Limoncello next year.

Part I ‘Nothing else matters’ / Interval ‘The base is only to ease the hold of the ice-cream’ / Part II ‘The natural earth beneath my feet is unusual (1999, 1984-7, 15.04.58, 24.02.36)’. With appearances by Andrew Gledhill, Richard Gledhill, Tom Shay and maybe Alon Goren.

YONATAN VINITSKY (B. 1980, Jerusalem, Israel) gained his BA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London (2006), and is currently studying for his MA Sculpture at Royal College of Art, London (2009). This lecture was made in collaboration with Anton Sandwich, Tom Shay, Jacob Tida, Jacob Plotovski, Jacob Hoffman, Martha Bloom and those who wish to remain anonymous.
