‘Open Dialogues: Confessions of a Critical Writer’
Monday 29 September 2008, 7pm
Open Dialogues is a writing collaboration that encourages accessible critical writing on contemporary art. Open Dialogues works on the premise that there is no such thing as truly objective criticism; artists and people who write about art belong to the same social and professional networks. Acknowledging this context, Open Dialogues asks how critical writing can develop as a practice today. Do we need a new model of critical writing?
For this talk, Open Dialogues will answer this question with their own model of critical writing, presented through case studies.
